There's enough action-packed monster fighting to keep the show exciting, the character development is solid, and the cerebral overarching plot will keep sci-fi fans interested.

It's a shame Primeval's failed to rise to the next level, despite clearly wanting to, and the corniness of its characters doesn't help matters.
