At the very least, Jupiter's Legacy is admirably acted and exceptionally costumed. Season one tells two stories and only finishes one of them. At least the one that gets an ending is the one worth watching.

Jupiter's Legacy "Volume 1" feels like a prologue to a much better series, but there are some fresh ideas to be found here, and a great cast mostly helps to elevate a disjointed story to not quite super, but still heroic levels.

Some real 3-D chess is being played with ideas and schemes in "Jupiter's Legacy," and I look forward to seeing how it works out in future, no doubt more elaborate, seasons.

Jupiter's Legacy is different enough from the mainstream cape flicks put out by Disney and Warner Bros., but that's largely because it's a tonal mismatch that gets pulled in three too many directions.
