Andrew's actions grow more manipulative and cruel throughout the series, while he himself never suffers quite enough. Long before the series does, you wonder what anyone sees in him. Denise, Kim and finally the audience deserve better.

If David Cross had removed all the jokes from his new Sky One series Bliss, it would have made a very fine, uneasy drama about bigamy and the lies we tell ourselves. Unfortunately, he didn't. And as a comedy, it fails pretty spectacularly.

This could only have a chance of working successfully with a convincing lead, and Mangan has been blessed with a wonderfully expressive face which can switch his mood between states of clunky affability, eye-watering anxiety and full-on anger in a second.
