Jinn (2018)
Description
This story tells of events that seem closer to reality. There is a girl called Summer, a black girl who does not exceed the age of 17, and everything changed for her in a very short time. Things may have changed and her life turned upside down when her mother, a famous meteorologist named Jade Jennings, suddenly turns to Islam and becomes a different person from others. Things may look quite different, leading the summer to reassess its identity, which could change.

Mu'min shows great sensitivity as a director, drawing a remarkably carefree and naturalistic performance from her young star that makes her sympathetic, even when her character is behaving in selfish and hurtful ways.

Renee has a superhuman charisma. Yet the young actor makes audiences root for her while also allowing Summer to be rude and thoughtless.
