Description
A helicopter-pilot-officer and troubled Vietnam War veteran with PTSDÂ is assigned to fly Blue Thunder, an experimental, high-tech helicopter as part of an anti-terrorist task force. The battle in Blue Thunder is less between Scheider's edgy police pilot Frank Murphy and his ultimate nemesis (Malcom McDowell), as it is between Murphy and the high-tech beast he's asked to pilot.

I've always had a weakness for Blue Thunder, which seemed terribly exciting during my teen years. More than two decades later, I can admit that it's not a great picture. But I still like it.

Despite some big lapses in logic, Blue Thunder is a thrilling action-adventure with a smart, cynical attitude and a villain (Malcolm McDowell) you'll just love to hate.
